On October 24, the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union was signed in Brussels with the participation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the European Council António Costa, and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The Presidential Press Service reported on this.

The new document replaces the 1996 Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, updating and expanding the legal basis for bilateral relations.

The EPCA consists of 9 parts, 356 articles, and 14 annexes, covering areas such as political dialogue, trade and investments, science and education, innovations, environment, and climate change.

The agreement is expected to initiate a new stage in relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union, bringing cooperation to an unprecedented level.

We recall that Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Brussels on an official visit last night, accompanied by his wife Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva.
