Hamas negotiation group leader Khalil al-Hayya announced the end of the war and that a permanent ceasefire agreement has come into effect.
According to a Reuters report, al-Hayya said in a televised statement that Hamas had received guarantees from the US and mediators regarding the end of the war.
"We announce today the end of the war and the beginning of a permanent ceasefire. According to the agreement, the Rafah border crossing will be opened in both directions, and Israel will release all Palestinian women and children," says Khalil al-Hayya.
