According to the report of the State Security Service, the deputy governor of Khovos district, Sirdaryo region, and a specialist from the district department of the Regional Department of Investments, Industry, and Trade colluded to illegally amass wealth.
They planned to include a livestock farm with 452 hectares of land under its control into the rice cultivation distribution plan for the next year, confirm the fulfillment of the export plan, fail to take measures regarding the cultivation of rice without distribution, and, in exchange for allegedly protecting the farm's head during an inspection of the farm's activities in the district by the State Security Service, received 10,000 US dollars from the farm's head in June of this year.
Subsequently, the deputy governor threatened to transfer the land to the state reserve and initiate a criminal case against the head of the farm, demanding an additional 20,000 US dollars.
During an urgent operation conducted by State Security Service officers in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the deputy governor was caught red-handed while receiving 10,000 US dollars of the demanded money through the specialist, who was his accomplice, and their illegal actions were stopped.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the deputy governor and the specialist from the district department of the Regional Department of Investments, Industry, and Trade under Part 3, paragraph "a" of Article 165 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied.
In a case observed in Navoi region, an assistant to the governor responsible for issues of entrepreneurship development, employment, and poverty reduction in one of the neighborhood citizens' assemblies in Karmana district was caught red-handed with material evidence by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes while illegally receiving 40 million soums.
It was found that the assistant to the governor, abusing his official position, gained the trust of a citizen and, in exchange for officially registering a 12 sq.m. land plot located along the M-37 highway, which had been leased to another citizen in 2024, in his name, demanded 100 million soums.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the assistant to the governor, and investigative actions are being carried out.
