It has been reported that public catering enterprises in Uzbekistan conducted trade worth 133 trillion soums. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
According to the report, as of September 1, 2025, 25,840 commercial enterprises are operating in the public catering sector. In January-August of the current year, the trade turnover of public catering enterprises reached almost 133 trillion soums. This indicator increased by 12.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
In January-August 2025, inspections were carried out at 2,873 enterprises in Uzbekistan that were at high risk of tax non-payment.
During the inspection, the sectors that attempted to evade taxes the most were trade and public catering — 5.7 trillion soums. This is equal to 57.6 percent of the total indicator.
Also, cafes and restaurants were among the sectors with the highest demand for labor in Uzbekistan.
In the second quarter of 2025, the number of vacant job positions offered in the labor market increased by 28.7 percent compared to the first quarter. The most job offers were announced by enterprises in trade (19.4 percent), public catering (17.5 percent), and manufacturing (16.8 percent).
