On September 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. President Donald Trump held talks at the UN Headquarters. The meeting discussed broadening the strategic partnership between the two countries and important areas of cooperation.
The meeting involved an exchange of views on political dialogue, economic cooperation, investment, and business ties. President Trump supported the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, while Mirziyoyev invited the U.S. leader to pay an official visit to the country.
It was emphasized that a portfolio of agreements has been formed in the fields of civil aviation, mineral resources, energy, innovation, and finance. It was noted that these projects will create thousands of new jobs in both countries.
The talks were reported to have been held in a friendly and open manner.
