Saida Mirziyoyeva met with the head of the World Trade Organization in Geneva and exchanged views on the reforms and important steps being taken on Uzbekistan's path to WTO membership.

On September 17, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, met with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, in Geneva. During the conversation, the comprehensive reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, potential challenges in the accession process, and the importance of mutual trust were discussed.

Mirziyoyeva expressed gratitude to the WTO head for their constant support and reaffirmed Uzbekistan's firm position on integrating into the global trade system.

For reference, this is not the first meeting between the two leaders—they also held talks in Tashkent and Geneva in 2023.

Furthermore, within the framework of its WTO accession, Uzbekistan has successfully concluded negotiations with the United States, Pakistan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
