In Peshku district, the assistant to the hokim demanded $6,000 from an entrepreneur in exchange for assistance in purchasing land. He was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe during a rapid operation.
Text: On September 10, an entrepreneur living in Peshku district of the Bukhara region appealed to the authorized bodies regarding the illegal actions of the assistant to the hokim at a citizens' gathering of the mahalla.
According to him, the assistant to the hokim, exploiting his official position, demanded $6,000 USD in exchange for officially registering a 7-hundred square meter plot of land from the government reserve for the entrepreneur through "K-savdo" LLC.
During a rapid operation conducted in collaboration with the State Security Service, the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, and law enforcement officers, the assistant to the hokim was caught with material evidence while receiving this amount of money through a third party.
A criminal case has now been initiated against him under Part 2, Clause "v" of Article 210 of the Criminal Code (extortion). He has been detained as a precautionary measure. Investigative actions are ongoing.
