A verdict was issued in the Shahrisabz district court against a citizen of Uzbekistan who had signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2024 and participated in the war in Ukraine.

The citizen had participated in the war starting from August 26, 2024, was seriously wounded twice, and returned to Uzbekistan in February 2025, where he applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The court found him guilty under Article 154 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 4 years of restricted freedom.

When imposing a lighter sentence, the court took into account circumstances such as his remorse, having a disabled child, and being the sole breadwinner for his family.

Restrictions were imposed on him, including not leaving Kashkadarya region, not changing his place of residence, and not contacting individuals associated with the Russian military.
