The Deputy Governor of Forish District, Jizzakh Region, allegedly demanded 30,000 US dollars to refrain from returning 204 hectares of irrigated land, which was won through auction sales by an LLC specializing in the agricultural sector in June of this year, to the district governor's reserve and to facilitate his unrestricted use of this land in the future, as reported by the DXX information service.
According to the report, the deputy governor stated that 20,000 US dollars of the demanded 30,000 should be paid immediately, while the remaining 10,000 US dollars should be paid after the harvest. The deputy governor was caught red-handed while receiving 20,000 US dollars of the demanded amount in his official car, with material evidence.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated against the official under Part 4, Clause "a" of Article 168 and Part 3, Clause "a" of Article 211 of the Criminal Code, and a detention measure was applied.
