Thailand's prosecutor's office has officially charged 23 individuals and companies, including a prominent construction oligarch and China's major state-owned corporation, in connection with the collapse of a 30-story office building in Bangkok. The Nation Thailand reported this.

Among the accused are Premchai Karnasuta, the head of Italian-Thai Development, one of the country's largest construction firms, and China's China Railway Corporation. They are suspected of violating construction standards and falsifying official documents.

Preliminary investigation results indicate that the collapse of the building was caused by major deficiencies in the design and construction phases. Additionally, the quality of materials used and non-compliance with technological requirements were identified.

It is known that on March 28, 2025, the under-construction tower of the National Audit Office in Bangkok collapsed as a result of a powerful earthquake in Myanmar. The incident resulted in 92 fatalities, 9 injuries, and 4 workers still missing.

The collapsed building was only 30% complete and was the only structure in Thailand damaged by the earthquake. This incident has been noted as one of the most tragic structural collapses in the country's history.
