Reports have circulated that teachers at School No. 42 were forcibly involved in school renovations, with some educators even being forced to plaster walls during their vacation. The State Labor Inspectorate of the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment conducted an investigation into the situation.

It was found that the school director, Z.M., abused her authority by threatening teachers with reduced teaching hours if they refused to participate in renovation work. This action was deemed a violation of Part 2 of Article 51 of the Labor Code and the Code of Administrative Responsibility, resulting in a fine of 100 BHM—equivalent to 41 million 200 thousand soums.

Despite the school being renovated with state funds in 2023–2024, the involvement of teachers in the repairs, including some who were called in during their leave, sparked public outrage.

Videos circulating online show female teachers of English, Russian, and mathematics plastering walls and carrying chairs and desks.

We remind you that the forced labor of teachers is prohibited by law, and strict measures are mandated in such cases.
