A citizen of Andijan, born in 1997, was deprived of liberty for promoting terrorist ideologies, participating in criminal financing, and intending to wage jihad in the ranks of foreign militants.
The resident of Andijan district came under the influence of the media propagandists of the "Monotheism and Jihad Secretariat" (an international terrorist organization, ITO) starting from 2023.
He supported and disseminated the organization's extremist religious ideas on migration and jihad through social networks.
The citizen established contact with members of a terrorist group and planned to wage jihad by participating in armed clashes.
Additionally, between 2023–2024, he transferred $2,912 USD and 4.19 million Uzbek soums to ITO members via cryptocurrency and bank cards.
He twice attempted to cross into Syria via Turkey but failed, after which he aimed to join the "Islamic Jihad Union" terrorist group in Afghanistan. However, in November 2024, he was captured while attempting to cross through Iran.
The Andijan District Court found him guilty under Articles 155-2, 155-3, 244-1, and 244-2 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
