Officials operating in Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent city were caught red-handed in bribery. This was reported by the press service of the State Security Service to Darakchi.uz.
It was noted that the first case was observed in Namangan region. In the area, the chief specialist of the inspection department for construction and housing-utilities supervision, using his connections in the judicial system, demanded $30,000 in exchange for reviewing the case of a convict sentenced to 8 years in prison last January and imposing a penalty unrelated to deprivation of liberty.
"The official was caught with material evidence while receiving $10,000 of the demanded amount. Later, it was revealed that this specialist had previously been convicted several times for fraud-related crimes," the report stated.
We won’t go far from Namangan. In another rapid operation conducted in the region, the head of a private valuation company was caught red-handed while taking $4,400 in exchange for reducing the company's tax debt from 783 million soums to 141 million soums, leveraging his connections with tax officials.
Similarly, the operation continued, and the head of a department at the Namangan Regional Tax Office, who was considered an acquaintance of the official, was caught while taking $4,400 as a bribe.
The latest case was observed in the Mirabad district of the capital, Tashkent. The head of the Social Adaptation Center of the district administration was caught while taking $1,200 in exchange for illegally processing a citizenship passport and registering a stateless person, exploiting his official position.
Another case was observed in Kashkadarya region. In a violation of the law, a state enforcement officer of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau under the Prosecutor General's Office in Karshi city demanded $1,000 in exchange for lifting the seizure on a debtor's vehicle to recover a debt of nearly 70 million soums.
As a result of the rapid operation, the state enforcement officer was caught while receiving the demanded amount as a bribe through the mediation of a farm head in Karshi district.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and investigative actions are underway.
