In the city of Namangan, during a rapid operation conducted in collaboration between the State Security Service and internal affairs agencies, the activities of an illegal group consisting of supporters of the international terrorist organization – “Islamic State Khorasan Province” were exposed. It was established that the individual who formed this secret "community" and its members had been promoting terrorist ideologies. This was reported by the information service of the State Security Service.

According to the report, searches were conducted at the residences of the group's 16 members, resulting in the seizure of 37 mobile phones, 51 copies of unauthorized religious literature, 40 DVD discs, 4 flash cards, and several laptops and tablets as material evidence. During the interrogation process, it became known that the members of this group had been promoting "jihad" and "martyrdom" after studying the ideological guidelines of international terrorist organizations.

Furthermore, the group's leader had created virtual channels on the Telegram messenger with over 120 members, where extremist materials, attributes of the “Islamic State,” and audio-video files of a radical nature were distributed. Their goal was to incite youth to jihad under the “ruling of Sharia” and to cultivate discontent toward the political and religious reforms being carried out in the country.

It was revealed that the group's leader had received religious instruction in a special "cell" in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2022. After this process, his views drastically changed, and he even declared his own father a "kafir" (infidel) when his father tried to guide him back to the right path.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code against the group's organizer and three active members, and they have been detained. Investigations regarding the remaining members are ongoing.
