An inspector of the patrol-post service of the Public Order Maintenance Department of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate was caught while taking a bribe in exchange for issuing a driver's license. This was reported by DXX Darakchi.uz.
Taking advantage of his official position, he gained the trust of a citizen and promised to arrange for his acquaintance, a resident of Navoi region, to pass the state exam and obtain a license.
During an operational event conducted in Yunusabad district in collaboration with the Tashkent City DXX Directorate and the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, he was caught red-handed while receiving $1,500 and 1.9 million soums demanded for the entrance exam.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated against him under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. The court imposed pretrial detention as a preventive measure.
The investigative actions are currently ongoing.
