An official working in the position of a department head at the municipality of Ohangaron city in the Tashkent region has been exposed for abuse of trust.
He had allegedly promised to officially transfer to a citizen a three-room apartment, which was planned to be transferred to the municipal balance, through acquaintances in the judicial system.
In return, he demanded $15,000 for the apartment and an additional $3,500 for the “acquaintances” in the court, making a total of $18,500.
The official was arrested while receiving $9,500 as an advance payment during a rapid operation conducted by the State Security Service and the Department of Execution of Punishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him, and pre-trial detention has been applied as a precautionary measure.
