The investigating judge from the Yangiarik district court of the Khorezm region was caught with a bribe of 15 thousand dollars. The State Security Service reported this.

It was reported that the judge, M.S., demanded money in exchange for resolving a criminal case in favor of a citizen living in Urgench city, which was being considered at the JIB Tuproqqala district court under Article 210 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, through his authorized colleagues by issuing an acquittal verdict.

Afterward, the investigating judge received 2 thousand dollars in cash and 24 million Uzbek soums through a plastic card.

According to the State Security Service, after failing to fulfill his promise, he was arrested by the service, Supreme Court, and the General Prosecutor's Office employees while returning the received money.

Currently, with the consent of the Supreme Court, a criminal case has been initiated against him by the General Prosecutor's Office under Article 168 (Fraud) and Article 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigatory actions are being carried out. Pre-trial detention has been applied as a preventative measure against him.
