According to the official statement of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, the investigative judge of Yangiyerik district court, M.S., was caught in the act of returning a portion of the bribe he had previously received in exchange for assisting citizen O.R. in a criminal case.
It is noted that M.S. was detained with the evidential material during a rapid operation conducted by law enforcement agencies while attempting to return the bribe money at the request of the applicant.
The Supreme Court strongly expressed its position on this matter, emphasizing the ongoing uncompromising fight against corruption within the judiciary system.
It was also noted that all necessary measures are being taken to cleanse the system of "unscrupulous personnel".
The judicial body called on citizens for active cooperation in the fight against corruption in society, especially within the judicial system.
