Today, June 27 – is the Day of Press and Mass Media Workers in Uzbekistan. This date has been officially celebrated as a professional holiday since the years of independence – beginning in 1993.
Every year on this day, thousands of journalists, editors, bloggers, technical specialists, and other media sector loyalists are recognized and honored.
Currently, over 2,400 mass media outlets operate in our country, 65 percent of which belong to the private sector. According to official data, more than 10,000 journalists and media workers are active in the information space in Uzbekistan. They raise the most urgent issues in society, serving as an information bridge between the people and the state.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, while congratulating journalists on today's holiday, compared their selfless delivery of truthful information to the courage of the defenders of the Motherland.
The President emphasized the approaches towards ensuring freedom of speech, developing national content for children, and nurturing young journalists.
Additionally, the “Golden Pen” national award will be presented for the first time specifically on June 27.
Today, you – journalists, broadcasters, editors, page makers, sound masters, and directors deserve the highest recognition.
You seek the truth, speak of the pain, look for solutions to problems. And most importantly – you speak out without silence!
“Darakchi.uz” team heartily congratulates all of you on this auspicious date! We wish you robust health, strong social responsibility, truthful words, and bright ideas!
Happy professional holiday!
