On May 22, the working group led by the governor of Bukhara region, Botir Zaripov, will visit the 2nd state preschool institution in Bukhara city to study the ongoing construction and repair works. A video reflecting the current situation will soon spread on social networks, causing great debates and controversies over the governor's phrase to "demolish".
In the video, the governor is seen giving instructions in a sharp tone to "demolish!" This phrase is interpreted by some users as the governor ordering the demolition of private kindergartens. The incident sparks heated discussions among social network users — some consider it an act of arbitrariness by an official, while others see it as a measure aimed at protecting social facilities.
Against this backdrop, the Bukhara regional administration provided an explanation. According to the official statement, the governor's words were misinterpreted.
“The phrase 'demolish' mentioned in the video that shook the networks was intended to eliminate an illegal, secret entry-exit passage created without the necessary permits within the territory of that kindergarten," the statement says.
According to the administration, these objects were located in a territory adjacent to the state kindergarten and were involved in unauthorized, illegal activities. In particular, the owner of a public catering object had opened an illegal entry-exit passage in the kindergarten territory, which caused the governor's objection.
According to the statement, capital repair works at the kindergarten, which was built in 1961 and is now in need of repair, are being carried out at the expense of the local budget. The governor has given instructions to accelerate these works, ensuring safety measures and discipline.
"Social network activists are discussing this phrase as if 'the governor is ordering the demolition of private kindergartens.' This is not true," the administration's explanation says.
However, official explanations have not yet put an end to all objections. Some users consider the governor's harsh tone as contrary to the culture of communication with citizens by officials. Furthermore, debates on the inviolability of property and the protection of legal entrepreneurial activities in Uzbekistan continue.
