Saudi Arabian officials have denied reports that the ban on alcohol products has been lifted in the country.
Reports that the kingdom is preparing to lift the 73-year ban have been refuted. Earlier, it was reported that Saudi Arabia would allow the controlled sale of alcoholic beverages as part of preparations for hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup. This caused sharp discussions in society.

However, in a statement to Reuters, the Saudi official said: "The current ban on alcohol consumption in the country remains in force, and exceptions can only be made under special rules applicable to the foreign diplomatic corps."

Saudi Arabia, as a country that adheres to Islamic law, strictly prohibits the sale and consumption of alcohol. Although the country's government is implementing some social and economic reforms within the Vision 2030 program, it was officially announced that its position on alcohol has not changed.
