2 billion 44 million UZS will be allocated to prevent road traffic accidents in the city of Tashkent. This is stated in the decision on “Allocation of funds” adopted by the mayor of Tashkent city yesterday, on May 20 here.
According to the decision, these funds will be allocated to the district Beautification departments based on an approved targeted list for expenses related to ensuring road safety, from the funds of the Tashkent city development fund.
Of this amount, 1 billion 456 million UZS will be directed to install metal fences along streets and roads to prevent pedestrian-related traffic accidents, and 588 million UZS will be allocated to organize raised pedestrian crossings to prevent traffic accidents among minors. A total of 5600 meters of fences will be installed along the roads.
Raised pedestrian crossings will be established in 42 locations across the capital. Specifically, 6 in the Olmazor district, 5 each in Shaykhontohur, Yunusabad, Sergeli, and Mirabad districts, 4 in the Bektemir district, 3 each in Yashnobod and Chilanzar districts, and 2 each in Mirzo Ulugbek, Yakkasaroy, and Yangihayot districts.
The expenditure of the allocated funds and the volume of work completed will be reported to the deputies of Tashkent city Council and Tashkent city administration.
