He said that representatives of French foreign intelligence confirmed that he had met with him. Officials said these meetings were held to combat terrorism and child pornography.

However, according to Durov, the topic of child pornography was not raised at all during the meetings. The main focus was on obtaining IP addresses of terrorism suspects in France.

But this was not the main purpose of intelligence, Durov says - they were interested in the geopolitical situation in such countries as Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.

On May 18, during the second round of Romanian presidential elections, Durov wrote in social media posts that French intelligence demanded he limit conservative votes before the Romanian elections.

French foreign intelligence - DGSE - denied these claims. According to them, during the meetings with Durov, only issues of terrorism and the prevention of crimes against children were discussed. They stated that they did not ask to interfere in any political process.
