As reported, a request was received from a woman named N.G., who resides in the Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region. The appeal stated that her underaged grandson, D.R., born in 2023, has been left without parental care in Russia because his father is temporarily in detention and his mother is being held at a migration center. The 2-year-old child is currently at a children's hospital in Nizhny Novgorod, and she asked for practical assistance in returning her grandson to Uzbekistan.
Following this, the Children's Ombudsman, in collaboration with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Russia, took measures to return the child to Uzbekistan and formalized the necessary documents. Moreover, thanks to the efforts of the Consulate General, the child's mother has also been returned to Uzbekistan with her child.
