Uzbekistan may also be included in the list of Europe's next sanctions.

According to Bloomberg, the European Union is expected to formally agree on the 17th package of sanctions against Russia on May 14. These restrictive measures are being implemented mainly in connection with military actions in Ukraine it has been noted.

The notable aspect is that these sanctions cover not only Russian companies and organizations, but also enterprises located in third countries, which are suspected of providing circumventive assistance to Russia.

According to Bloomberg, restrictions on 149 oil tankers are expected to be imposed as part of the sanctions. These tankers are considered to belong to “Russia's shadow fleet”.

Moreover, officials say that some companies located in the UAE, Turkey, Serbia, Vietnam, and even Uzbekistan might also be included in the sanctions lists.

This decision demonstrates the European Union's intention to tighten its sanctions mechanisms and increase economic pressure against Russia.

At the moment, Uzbekistan's official bodies have not provided any comments on this matter.
