The Administration of Andijan region has denied the reports about Shukhrat Abdurahmonov committing a criminal act against a minor.
According to the press service of the Administration, as announced, on May 9, a post containing serious and unfounded accusations against the governor of Andijan region, Shukhrat Abdurahmonov, was published on social networks by blogger Ulugbek Ashur. In his post, the blogger mentioned that "according to an Andijan citizen", as if the governor had committed a criminal act against a minor.
The Administration of Andijan region strongly denies this information. Such posts, based on "citizen information" and lacking any proof, are a direct assault on the individual’s honor, dignity, and reputation, the administration states.
It is highlighted that the sources of defamation and insult on social networks are dubious and illegal, and legal assessment will be given to this situation. Currently, those who have spread such unfounded information and attempted to provoke wrong opinions among the public have been reported to the relevant law enforcement agencies. Legal actions will be taken against them in accordance with the law.
The Administration is asking the public to rely only on official and reliable sources, and not to fall for provocative information.
