The law (Uzbekistan Republic Code-1061, dated 05.05.2025) introduced amendments and additions to certain legislative documents. The Ministry of Justice reports this.

According to the amendments made by the law, the privatization or otherwise alienation of lands owned by the state, used to satisfy the cultural and domestic needs of the population and for their leisure, is prohibited.

It was determined to prohibit the construction of buildings and structures on these lands or the expansion of the construction sites of existing buildings and structures, and to reduce the territory of these lands.

According to the addition to the Criminal Code, criminal liability is intensified for distributing land in violation of these restrictions.

Additionally, permitted types of land use were introduced, specifying their main, conditional, and auxiliary categories.

Furthermore, botanical gardens were included in the protected natural areas, and any activity threatening the preservation of plant life within their territories is prohibited.
