Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that the country intends to maintain strategic control over the Persian Gulf region.
He stated that Iran is ready to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf without the involvement of the United States.
Through this, Khamenei said, the goal is to strengthen stability in the region and "curb enemy actions."
At the same time, he emphasized that a "bright future" awaits the region without U.S. involvement. Earlier, it was reported that oil prices had sharply risen following tough statements by Donald Trump regarding Iran.
