Specialists have launched a large-scale campaign against the pest.

It is reported that since the beginning of spring, the spread of the Moroccan locust has been observed in the Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.

To date, chemical treatment has been carried out on 3,641 hectares, and over 22,000 hectares of territory have been placed under surveillance. For the current year, treatment is planned on 651.8 thousand hectares of land.

Dozens of special machines and more than a thousand pieces of equipment have been involved in the control efforts, with nearly 700 specialists working around the clock. Rapid response groups have been formed in all areas.

Citizens have been asked to report locust situations to the relevant services, and the chemical treatments are being carried out free of charge.
