It is reported that on March 2, the flow of people sharply increased through the Kapikoy checkpoint in the afternoon. In the morning, however, Ankara temporarily stopped one-day passenger traffic at three border gates, allowing entry only to Turkish and third-country citizens.
One of the travelers from around Qazvin stated that constant strikes in military areas are affecting daily life. According to him, no food shortage is observed, but the main problem is finding fuel. While light snow was falling at the border, people with their suitcases boarded minibuses heading towards Istanbul.
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced that Iranian citizens are being allowed to enter the country via Turkey, and commercial cargo transportation through three gates continues under control. He emphasized that all services have been brought to a state of high readiness for the uninterrupted operation of border and trade flows.
