Several others sustained minor combat injuries and concussions and are returning to duty. It was stated that the next of kin of the deceased would be notified within 24 hours. The statement emphasized that major combat operations are ongoing.
US President Donald Trump announced on February 28 that the country had begun a large-scale military operation against Iran. The US calls this operation "Epic Fury." Trump accused Iran of waging a "continuous bloody campaign" against the US and its allies.
On February 28, Israel also struck a number of Iranian cities, including Tehran. Israel named its operation "Roar of the Lion." A state of emergency has been declared in the country due to the possibility of retaliatory attacks.
Trump stated that the bombings would continue until peace is established in the Middle East.
