Over the last 8 years, 120 million square meters or more than 600 thousand apartments have been built in the country, and 103 trillion soums in mortgage loans have been allocated to 541 thousand citizens.
The President has tasked to increase the annual volume of housing construction to 280 thousand, raise the share of renovation to 60 percent, and expand the "New Uzbekistan" massifs in order to bring the per capita housing area to 23 square meters by 2040.
It was also noted that it is necessary to increase transparency and efficiency in the sector through the efficient use of land resources, a ready-for-construction land mechanism, and the introduction of digital technologies and information systems.
