On January 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the monument to Islam Karimov in the city of Tashkent.
Historical memory is the solid foundation of a nation's future. The invaluable services of the First President Islam Karimov in the formation of Uzbekistan as an independent state and the establishment of the foundations of statehood are remembered with deep respect and recognition.
Through the initiative and attention of our state leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the memory of the First President has been immortalized; his mausoleum was erected in Samarkand. Marking the date of January 30, the birth date of Islam Karimov, has become a good tradition.
During the ceremony, verses from the Quran were recited and prayers were offered. The activities of the First President for the benefit of the Homeland and his human virtues were remembered.
The ceremony held at the Islam Karimov scientific-educational memorial complex was attended by representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration and the government, representatives of science and culture, and public figures.
Furthermore, flowers were also laid at the monuments to the First President in the cities of Samarkand and Karshi, paying tribute to his memory.
