Cases of collecting money to various plastic card numbers to bring back the bodies of deceased Uzbeks who died abroad are increasing on social networks. This was reported by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the Agency's statement, some individuals are engaging in fraud by exploiting people's emotions based on old or incorrect information. It is emphasized that such situations lead to distrust and deception in society.
The Migration Agency called on citizens not to trust such appeals being spread on social networks and under no circumstances to transfer money. It was recommended to contact only official state bodies as a legal and reliable way.
The Agency also reminded that if an Uzbek citizen dies abroad, the repatriation of their body is carried out at the expense of the Migration Fund funds. For this, the close relatives or representatives of the deceased must directly contact the Migration Agency.
