On January 7, the Uzbekistan Olympic national team started its participation in the Asian Cup being held in Saudi Arabia with a victory. In the first round of Group "C", the Uzbeks who took the field against Lebanon won with a minimal advantage.
In the first half of the match, the Uzbekistan national team completely controlled the game. In the 24th minute, Amirkhon Saidov opened the scoring and put his team ahead. At the beginning of the second half, Khayrullaev (50th minute) and Bahromov (57th minute) scored goals, making the score 3:0.
In the final minutes of the match, the Lebanese became active, with Farah Shahin scoring in the 65th minute and in added time, bringing the score to 3:2. However, this was not enough for the Lebanese team.
