Despite being 71 years old, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko plays hockey at an amateur level. In a game in Minsk, he took to the ice against a team from the Brest region and collided with his teammate Yaroslav Chuprys, sustaining a pulled muscle in his back.
Lukashenko stated that he feels fine and is preparing for the next game. The match ended in a 5:5 draw.
In previous years, Lukashenko has also participated in amateur hockey matches, including a friendly match in 2021 where he played on the same team as Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was also noted that during a Republic competition in 2022, he was hit in the face with a hockey stick.
