A system for paying metro fares by card has been implemented at 29 stations of the Tashkent Metro. The capital city's information service reports on this.
Now, to enter the metro, a transport card or smartphone is not required—payment is carried out using biometric identification based on the lines on the palm. Currently, the innovative system has been installed at 29 stations. Approximately 200-250 thousand passengers use it daily.
The registration process takes 5 minutes. According to experts, the implementation of this technology will significantly reduce queues and save passengers' time.
It is emphasized that such solutions are an indicator of trust in the city and its infrastructure. A stable and secure environment for developing fintech initiatives is being consistently formed in Tashkent. This, in turn, is reflected in the implementation of high-tech and large-scale solutions with the active participation of investors.
