In the Global Peace Index 2025 ranking compiled by the Institute for Economics & Peace, 163 states and territories were assessed. According to the research results, although the global level of peace has declined for the sixth consecutive year, some countries, including Uzbekistan, recorded positive movement.

In the ranking, Uzbekistan moved up two positions compared to last year, taking 64th place. Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan showed the highest result with 56th place. Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan took 78th place, while Tajikistan occupied 79th place.

The "Global Peace Index" is compiled based on three main directions — indicators of societal safety, the level of ongoing conflict, and militarization. Iceland has remained the leader of the ranking for 17 consecutive years. Among the most dangerous countries, Russia, Ukraine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Yemen were noted.
