UEFA has fined Germany's Bayern club 116,000 euros for fan-related disciplinary violations and ordered the closure of certain stadium sectors for the club's upcoming home match in the Champions League.
It is reported that the penalty is related to the blocking of public roads and disorder caused by fans during the match against Sporting in December. Although this situation had previously been assessed conditionally, UEFA decided to enforce the penalty.
Consequently, sectors 111–114 of the Allianz Arena stadium will be closed for the Champions League match against Union on January 21. An additional penalty of partial stadium closure was also imposed, but it has been suspended with a two-year probationary period.
Furthermore, Bayern was also fined for the disorder that occurred after the away match against Arsenal in November. UEFA penalized the German club with a 40,000 euro fine for crowd disturbances and the throwing of objects, and a 30,000 euro fine for the dissemination of messages unfit for a sporting event.
