31 Uzbek students studying in Russia have been released from punishment. This was reported by the "Sputnik" publication.

According to the publication, the administration of the Higher School of Economics did not inform the authorized bodies about the extension of the migration registration period.

Because of this, the students ended up staying in Russia for more than 90 days. As a result, they could have faced a fine of 40 thousand rubles and the measure of deportation from the country.

Soon, the issue was reviewed by the Russian Ombudsman and the MIA Migration Service, and the students' stay in Russia was extended.

Also, the planned administrative penalties against them were canceled.
