President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals for further improving the system of supporting the population in need of social protection. In particular, issues of identifying poor families and those at risk of poverty, and organizing the assistance and services provided to them on the basis of a unified system were discussed.
It was reported that to date, the social status of 1.8 million families has been assessed, and 739 thousand families have been entered into the registry.
Now, a new Social Registry will be maintained based on the Unified Social Protection Registry and the Poor Families Registry. Families will be categorized according to their socio-economic status, and each will receive appropriate assistance.
It is planned to establish 20 regional social service centers in the regions by 2026–2027 to provide comprehensive social and rehabilitation services to the population in need.
Furthermore, a strategy developed for the protection of children from all forms of violence for 2026–2030 was presented to the President.
It envisages creating a safe environment for children, early identification of children at risk, and providing comprehensive social, psychological, and legal assistance to abused children. The head of state gave instructions to the responsible persons to strictly monitor the implementation of these tasks.
