According to the State Security Service, since June 2025, a man has been organizing a room in a house rented for $300 per month and providing illegal religious education to 23 children from various areas of Namangan city and region. He had independently studied religious knowledge from unknown sources on social networks and did not possess official religious education.

It was determined that among the children receiving education in the room, 10 were under seven years old, and 13 were over seven years old. None of them had attended school at all during the current academic year. It was found that some children had no concept of school or lessons.

During the investigation, it became known that the parents of the school-age children, in agreement with the school administration, had withdrawn their children from the electronic monitoring system and frequently changed their places of study to conceal the fact of non-attendance.

A criminal case has now been initiated against the individual who organized the room. The children's parents have been held accountable under Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. It was also noted that the inaction of school principals and teachers could be assessed under Article 228 of the Criminal Code.

It was previously reported that houses providing illegal religious education to children had also been identified in the cities of Namangan and Tashkent.
