A large quantity of narcotic substances hidden among marble stones intended for construction was exposed during an urgent operation conducted in the Samarkand region.
Within the framework of the "Safe and Healthy Country" operations, four individuals were detained during an urgent operation carried out in collaboration by the State Security Service, Internal Affairs, and Customs authorities. Among them is a foreign citizen born in 1992, as well as three citizens of Uzbekistan, born in 1981 and 1995, residing in the Samarkand region.
According to the investigation, the foreign citizen smuggled narcotic substances into the territory of Uzbekistan by hiding them among marble stones. The local citizens were engaged in distributing these substances.
During the operation, a total of 37 kg 421 grams of "extraction opium" was seized as material evidence. A criminal case has now been initiated against the suspects, and the precautionary measure of detention has been applied to them. Investigative actions are ongoing.
