Indian Sarvagya Singh Kushwaha has become the youngest chess player in history to hold a FIDE rating. He achieved this result and set a record at the age of 3 years, 7 months, and 20 days. This was reported by The Times of India.
Thus, he broke the previous record of another Indian chess player, Anish Sarkar, who entered the rating at the age of 3 years, 8 months, and 19 days.
Kushwaha, who studies at a kindergarten in Madhya Pradesh state, has a rating of 1572 points. According to FIDE rules, to have an official rating, a player must defeat at least one opponent who holds a FIDE rating.
To confirm his record, Kushwaha defeated three rated players in tournaments held in his state and other regions of India.
The rating is an indicator that evaluates a player's strength and is formed based on results. For example, the rating of Magnus Carlsen, the world's number one rapid chess player, is 2824 points.
