In the Gaza sector, 8-year-old Fadi and 10-year-old Jumaa, who had gone out to collect firewood, were killed as a result of an Israeli drone attack. According to CNN, they had gone out early in the morning to look for firewood to help their disabled father, but did not return. Soon after, neighbors reported that they had been killed by Israeli soldiers.
The children's father, Tamer Abu Assi, saw them before burial and stated that their bodies were in a terrible condition from shrapnel wounds.
The Israeli army acknowledged the attack, describing the children as "suspicious individuals who crossed the yellow line and posed a direct threat to soldiers."
The city of Bani Suheila is located near the "yellow line" under the control of Israeli forces. Due to a lack of clear markings, its exact boundary is unknown to Palestinians. Although a ceasefire regime is in effect, it is noted that precisely in this area, many civilians have been killed.
The number of casualties is increasing
According to information from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 70,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war. Among them, 20,000 are children and 10,000 are women.
The number of casualties is expected to rise further as the search for bodies continues under the rubble — more than 600 bodies have been found since the ceasefire began, and up to 10,000 more bodies may still be buried under the sand.
It is also reported that more than 350 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of the ceasefire.
