According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, approximately 30 kilograms of banned substances in total were seized during rapid operational measures carried out in two regions of the country.
In Tashkent, two men born in 1978 and 1973 were detained while attempting to receive 19 kg and 80 grams of narcotics from a hidden location. According to investigative data, the coordinates of the hidden locations were provided to them by members of an organized group. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code.
On November 13, in the Uchkorgan district of the Namangan region, two men born in 1995 and 1993 were arrested while attempting to receive 10 kilograms of hashish while acting as couriers. According to investigative data, they were operating on the instructions of the leaders of a criminal group, and the geolocation of the drop-off points had been provided in advance. One of the group's organizers—a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 2001—has been detained, and the other was arrested in Kyrgyzstan.
Criminal cases have been initiated for both incidents under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code. The accused could face imprisonment from 10 to 20 years.
