During the months of January-October of this year, the water supply was cut off for 62.4 thousand physical and legal consumer debtors across the republic. Of these, 46 thousand cases (the highest figure) are in Tashkent city, reported the press service of "Tashkent City Water Supply" JSC.
During the reporting period, in collaboration with regulatory authorities, a total of 4,351 cases of illegal connections to drinking water and sewerage systems were identified.
The highest figures were recorded in the following regions:
Tashkent - 488 cases;
In Syrdarya region - 433 cases;
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 425 cases;
In Khorezm region - 419 cases.
According to preliminary estimates, these offenses caused a total damage of over 82 billion soums to the public. As a result of the measures taken, the recovery of 33.6 billion soums in damages was ensured.
To reduce indebtedness, during the current year, claims totaling 358.4 billion soums against 123.4 thousand consumer debtors were filed with civil and economic courts.
As a result of the work carried out, consumer debt decreased by 203 billion soums or 22 percent compared to the beginning of the year, amounting to 705.5 billion soums.
Compared to the same period last year, it was achieved to reduce the debt by 364 billion soums or 34 percent, the report says.
