The seventh Summit of the Heads of State of Central Asia is taking place in Tashkent.

During Uzbekistan's presidency in this format, more than 20 major events were held covering various areas of cooperation.

On November 15-16, the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held in the city of Tashkent under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The summit will be attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, as well as the Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Kaha Imnadze.

The event's agenda includes issues of further strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia, as well as implementing joint projects and initiatives in priority areas. Views will be exchanged on current issues of regional and international policy.

Following the meeting, a significant package of multilateral documents is expected to be adopted.

The initiative to hold regular consultations of the heads of state of the region was put forward by the leader of Uzbekistan in September 2017 at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
