Based on the relevant order of the Chairman of the Federation of Societies for the Protection of Consumer Rights of Uzbekistan, Yariyev Jonibek Muzaffarovich was appointed as the acting Chairman of the Federation's Syrdarya Regional Association.
Previously, Jonibek Yariyev was found guilty by the JIB Khovos District Court of committing a crime under Part 2, paragraph "a" of Article 205 (Abuse of power or official authority) and Part 2, paragraph "a" of Article 209 (Official corruption) of the Criminal Code.
He was sentenced to 2.5 years of corrective labor, with the right to hold positions in state-owned enterprises, organizations, and institutions involving official and financial responsibility being revoked, and 20 percent of his wages being withheld to the state income. Furthermore, a fine equivalent to 105 times the BHM (Basic Calculation Amount) was also imposed on the former hokim (governor).
