The President has harmoniously approved that penalties for drug-related crimes will now be significantly strengthened.

- Deprivation of liberty for up to 20 years — will be applied to drug trafficking committed as part of an organized group or via the internet, organizing a drug laboratory, or abusing official powers.

- For consuming narcotic drugs in public places — administrative detention for up to 15 days is established.

- Aggravated liability — will be applied to cases involving the large-scale production, storage, transportation, or smuggling of narcotics.

- To protect minors:

— penalties for individuals who involve them or distribute drugs in educational institutions will be doubled in severity;

— those who teach children to use drugs can be deprived of liberty for up to 10 years.

- In some cases, individuals who have committed drug crimes will not be eligible for early parole.

These measures are aimed at intensifying the fight against drug addiction in the country and fostering a healthy and safe environment for the population, especially the youth.
